V2.0
The massive upgrade: a new look, new worlds and new ways to play.
PostitGuess has been rebuilt around the same simple idea: your friends know the name on your forehead, and you have to guess it. V2 brings a complete 3D visual remaster, a playful new interface and a much richer multiplayer experience, all in your browser.
Five new worlds for your guessing party
- The Clearing: a forest gathering around a lake, with a waterfall, a winding stream, lush grass, rocks and lanterns. Fish, a frog, butterflies and a wandering fox bring the woodland to life.
- Frozen Lake: a snowy forest with turquoise northern lights, fish beneath the ice, a roaming snow rabbit, fallen logs and cut tree stumps.
- Volcano Temple - Night: ancient ruins around glowing lava, with raised waves and bubbling movement that give the central pool depth and energy.
- Grand Manor: a decorated castle hall with more generous room proportions, furnishings and details surrounding the player circle.
- Desert Oasis: clear blue water, palms and dunes, with fish, weathered sandstone ruins, an abandoned caravan corner and playful, partially buried fossils.
- Each map has a clear gathering area for up to eight players, surrounded by detailed scenery. The old map selection has been replaced by the new collection.
A complete 15-character avatar collection
- Meet a coordinated collection of adventurers, including the Base character, Explorer, Viking, Knight, Wizard, Rogue, Pirate Captain, Engineer and more unusual party guests.
- Reworked faces, head shapes, hands, outfits and accessories give the characters more personality while keeping a consistent size and shared animation system.
- Improved backpack placement, livelier idle motion and expressive actions, including dancing. Idle is the default rather than a separate action button.
- Avatars face the group, player names are easier to read, and forehead name cards handle longer names and remain visible above water and character models.
- Your own avatar is clearly marked as You. Turn highlights, green outlines for successful guesses and red outlines for disconnected players make the game state easier to follow.
A playful new home page and lobby
- A complete visual refresh with warm panels, brighter buttons, clearer contrast, animated hover effects and a 3D hero avatar that dances when you hover over it.
- Larger avatar and map previews, a two-row avatar picker and horizontal selection rails with arrows, dragging and mouse-wheel support. Scrolling a picker no longer scrolls the page at its ends.
- Random dice buttons for both avatars and maps, plus a compact join-game panel that only uses the space it needs.
- Hosts can change the map directly in the lobby, with the selection synchronized for everyone. Players can change their avatar using left and right arrows around their lobby preview.
- Restored the playful invitation-link hover effect, refined the pointing hands and kept copying your game link simple.
Manual, Theme and Chaos game setup
- Manual: choose the names your friends will have to guess.
- Theme: let the game assign identities from a selected category.
- Chaos: mix categories for a more unpredictable round.
- Clearer category labels, item counts and examples help you choose a theme. Standard and Fast play remain separate pace settings.
- Expanded the production identity collection with more than 1,000 curated names across the available categories.
- Switching away from Manual and back clears previous readiness, so players must confirm their names again before starting.
Smarter answers and clearer in-game controls
- Improved answer acceptance for genuinely close guesses, common spelling mistakes and supported aliases, while keeping the intended identity as the answer.
- The scoreboard shows the actual assigned name rather than the spelling a player typed in an accepted guess.
- Overview and My POV now use distinct camera anchors: the center of the player circle or your own avatar. Zooming moves toward the selected anchor, with a consistent maximum zoom-out across maps.
- Camera rotation and lighting follow the approved map presentation. The old central chest has been removed, with fireworks celebrating the end of the game.
- A refreshed in-game interface keeps history and scoreboard scrolling inside their own panels. Empty lists stay compact instead of filling the screen with blank containers.
- Animation buttons have translated tooltips, so every action is understandable without guessing its icon.
A proper party finish
- A redesigned victory panel with a compact heading, victory photo and side-by-side replay and home actions.
- Download a real in-game group photo showing the map and players, including disconnected players. Only the winner receives the victory highlight in the photo.
- Shared images include postitguess.io and the game description. Share to X opens a new tab with a prepared message, without an account connection or extra editing modal.
- Start another round with the same team directly from the results screen.
Eight languages, one shared game
- Play in English, French, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Polish and Russian.
- The first visit can use your browser language, while respecting an explicitly chosen or saved language. Language choices use flag images and clearer labels.
- New interface text, game setup, animation tooltips and detective questions are translated. Language switching is kept out of the in-game interface.
- Added localized pages, search descriptions, canonical links, language alternates and sitemap support to help players find the game in their language.
Learn, watch and get inspired
- A new Learn & play guides hub covers rules, useful questions, strategy, online play, paper-and-pen games, name ideas and more, with localized articles across all eight languages.
- Guides feature real game screenshots with different maps, avatars and group sizes, plus a short animated character preview.
- The How to play gallery now cycles through varied game views, mixing clean scenery shots with lighter interface examples. Use the arrows or let it advance automatically.
- An official gameplay trailer is available from the home-page video button in a keyboard-accessible lightbox, with a gentler initial sound level.
- Expanded Your detective kit with more useful yes-or-no questions, fully translated.
- Redesigned the 404 page, added dedicated patchnotes and Terms of Service pages, and made game guides easier to find in the footer.
Sound, stability and a cleaner foundation
- Refreshed the existing sound effects and their balance for clearer feedback during the game.
- Improved multiplayer state handling, readiness feedback and the treatment of players who leave, including end-of-game photos.
- Removed legacy code, obsolete 3D assets and unused integrations, and consolidated the current asset and build workflows.
- Added a localhost-only solo testing flow with the selected settings and a test identity, keeping that shortcut out of production play.
- Refined responsive layouts, scrolling, accessibility and reduced-motion behavior throughout the updated experience.
